AMV: Bleach

Here's a cute Bleach AMV thingy that I came across...

I mean who wouldn't want to see Ichigo and Rukia as a hot steamy couple?

Don't answer that.

WO Examines: Mayo Chiki

I found this review floating around in a folder on my laptop, and since it's been forever and a day since my last review or post, I figured that this was the "rainy day" I had been saving it for.
Ahem.
There are genderbent shows, and then there is Mayo Chiki!

It's not what some of you probably think, and it's certainly not lacking in what you would expect either. It's filled to the brim with likable characters, funny scenarios and enough pervishness to satisfy even the most discerning of pantsutans.
What makes Mayo Chiki! stand out from the crowd, and separate it from the plethora of ecchi titles, is of course the role reversal of the genderbending.
For once, we have a girl as a boy, and the circumstances surrounding the plot are quite unique, to say the least.
Mayo Chiki! is a show that revolves around a boy named KinjirĊ Sakamachi, who suffers from an emotional affliction which causes his nose to bleed when ever he comes into direct contact with a girl; …

Anime Artisans: Envy

It's time for some more posting here on the blog, and since I have a few minutes this morning, I thought I would satisfy my recent addiction to the villainous Fullmetal Alchemist bad-guy/girl... whichever, Envy!

Yeah yeah, the whole gender non-specific thing is debatable, but who cares. Envy is awesome.

So have some awesome Envy art... and let your fan-boy weirdness go to the extreme!

Anyway.. there's more art and pictures after the break...

WO Reviews: FMA:B OVA Collection

It's been a long and bumpy road getting here, and I for one can actually sit back and breathe a huge sigh of relief, and call this franchise "over"!

But not before I give the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood OVA Collection the review treatment, and offer my two cents on the release.

As it happened, I and my wife stumbled on this combo pack by complete accident a few weeks ago, when we were browsing late one night in the local entertainment store, and we yoinked this up faster than a Naruto Cosplayer can say, "Shadow clone jutsu!"

Then as if by some miracle of the divine, it sat on the shelf next to the other FMA swag, and we neglected to watch it till Sunday... yeah, yeah... bad me, shame shame and all that.

So, now that I've sat down to view the official North American release, I've got a few words to say about it.

Remember, that I have seen this before. I watched the OVAs as they were coming out in Japan, and I loved them tons then. This review is mo…

Dragon Ball Roundup: Movies and More

I thought that Dragon Ball Kai was the evidence that the Dragon Ball franchise doesn't print money anymore, but apparently TOEI animation wants that to change. A new Dragon Ball movie was announced in the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, which brings the total number of movies up to an impressive 18. No details are known about the movie yet, but I'm sure that new info will be on the horizon. The new film could be a self contained story that introduces a new Villain or revisits an old one (not Broly, please dear Kami, not Broly), or an after-story continuation like "Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return". Personally, I hope that this new movie is the impetus that we need to a few of the newer unlicensed Dragon Ball specials dubbed and released in the US.

In smaller news: A few days ago, it was announced that Dragon Ball would be jumping on the HD bundle bandwagon with the release of Dragon Ball Z Budokai and Budokai 3 in HD on the PS3. Why isn't Budokai 2 involve…

Sailor Moon 2.0

So it's finally happened, the day we've all been dreaming about. The day they announced a new Sailor Moon anime. Not a film, and not an OVA, but an honest to God anime series!

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the franchise, it was conveniently slipped that the manga was going to get another anime treatment, and already the rumor-mills and the speculation is going into overdrive.

Already fans are hustling the show to the monster FUNimation, in the hopes that it can get gobbled up in their repertoire of half-assed titles and over used VAs... but hey if that's what the masses want, then I hope they don't bitch too much if they drop it after 48 episodes and then whore up over the license for years. Hahaha.

Anyway, this is still good news, and while all this is scheduled to go down next year, there is no definite date.
